Hebron Goes Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Day

By: Willow Schools

On Friday, Oct. 28, Mt. Hebron came to school dressed in pink for breast cancer awareness day. Students also showed up to that night’s football wearing pink to show support. This year, the 2024 Class Board ordered pink “We Are Hebron” t-shirts that were being sold for the upcoming Friday. Only a limited amount of them was available so students were quick to purchase them before the 28th.

On the popularity of the sale, Mt Hebron senior Jada Brown stated, “The t-shirts were so popular that they sold out in some of the sizes before there was an announcement made for them.”

When asked why she thought the T-shirts were so popular, Brown said, “I think everyone at Hebron has a lot of school spirit which makes any Hebron gear popular.”

“I think it’s sweet that everyone at Hebron can find a way to participate even if they didn’t get a pink T-shirt just by showing up and wearing pink on Friday,” fellow senior Kylie Ritter said.

At that night’s football game, students took to the stands to cheer on the team during their last home game of the season.

“Our entire section was pink at the game which was fun to see everyone wearing different shades of pink,” said Ritter.

It is a common trend at Mt. Hebron that allows students to exhibit immense spirit at any given opportunity, but it’s just that much more special when it’s a great cause like this.
