Following the split of socialite Kim Kardashian and rapper Kanye West, Kardashian has become involved with American comedian Pete Davidson. This has led to a series of posts and slander on social media from Kardashian’s ex-husband West.
Meeting at Kid Cudi’s birthday and working together on Saturday Night Live, Kardashian and Davidson seemed to hit it off. They made things official on Nov. 18 and are still together as of March 2022.
West started his rampage against their relationship with the release of his song “Easy” on Jan. 14. In the music video, an animated version of West is seen beating up a figure with a censored face. Along with that scene, the lyrics included, “God saved me from that crash / Just so I can beat Pete Davidson’s ***.”
However it is not West’s first time being so vocal. After being diagnosed with Bipolar disorder in 2016 the rapper has been involved in several controversies.
From the perspective of an outsider, his behavior has been debatable. Mt. Hebron sophomore Lauren Carlson believes he has never acted this worse before and that he has changed.

“I think that Kanye is trying to take advantage of a very personal situation with him and Kim and he’s also villainizing Kim,” says Carlson. They believe he is making Kardashian look bad on purpose, while also gaining sympathy and social media attraction.
Understanding he has a disorder, Carlson still believes he is accountable for his actions since he is not taking proper medication or control of himself.
“Before he was diagnosed with BPD he was either going through therapy or had some type of medication to help with it, [but] now he’s refusing to get therapy and medication for it, so to some degree he is still accountable for his actions,” says Carlson.
Mt. Hebron sophomore Aaima Vahora agrees with Carlson and also finds the recent behavior of West inexcusable.
“He’s not understanding from Pete Davdison’s perspective, and in no way should a person who’s just trying to be happy have their happiness ruined by another person,” says Vahora.
But with all the drama surrounding him, Davidson has yet to show any huge reactions. According to Radar Online, Davidson isn’t worried about West, but his fan base instead quoting, “His devoted followers listen to his songs and act upon them.”
In addition, Us Weekly states Davidson, “just doesn’t want to get involved in the divorce drama.”
Kardashian is reacting differently, texting West, “You are creating a dangerous and scary environment and someone will hurt Pete and this will be all your fault.”
Concerned for Davidson and her children, Kardashian is trying to keep things private. With the upcoming release of “The Kardashians” on Hulu, fans have been questioning if the feud between West or her current relationship with Davidson would be shown.
“I believe in championing publicly and criticizing privately. I don’t think I would ever criticize the father of my children on my TV show…I’m always really respectful of what the kids will see.” Kardashian stated in an interview with Variety. Kardashian is taking a more private route then West is in terms of their divorce and relationship drama.
From mentioning Davidson in his music to dissing him online, West has made it more than clear how he feels about the relationship between his former wife and friend. Although he has had many outbursts over the past month, West has been focusing on the release of his music, with no new Pete Davison posts on his feed.
