Personal style is often a big part of a person’s identity. Whether it be punk, contemporary, or vintage, everyone has a style that they love. This does not exclude some of the best dressed teachers and staff members at Mt. Hebron.

How do you choose your outfits from day to day?
Well, honestly it’s a really complex system I have. Usually, I wear the same pants all week. Sometimes if I switch out the pants, I forget the belt, and that has happened several times this year, and it makes my pants fall down. But I do have a system of shirts and ties that I keep in my closet that I rotate throughout the course of the week.

How do you choose your outfits from day to day?
First I usually start with one main piece, whether it’s a skirt or a top, and then I’ll build around it. So maybe I’ll look at accessories, makeup, and also colors to put on and then definitely shoes. I think shoes and accessories top off the whole outfit.

Do you dress the way you want to or the way you want the students to perceive you?
It really depends on certain days. I guess my classes and my schedule are more flexible than other teachers because I teach nutrition, so some days I dress up and some days I’ll dress down. I am also a coach, so on those days that we have a competition I may be more business casual or more into athletic wear. I would hope my students can see that you can be who you are as an individual and also show your personality through your clothes.

How do you choose your outfits from day to day?
I choose very haphazardly. They depend on my mood in the morning. I pretty much get up every morning and think, “It’s a blue day,” or, “It’s a purple day,” and then just choose randomly. Never do I match the same things. Typically, I don’t wear the same outfit repeatedly. It’s mood driven.
What are you wearing today?
Today I’m wearing a misook, Japanese designer, pants, and two piece. It’s all interchangeable. I have all different pieces and the blacks are always the same. I topped it with a shawl poncho that was actually a gift at Christmas from my brother. I made a deliberate move to wear something a little non-traditional because I felt like this was a bit of a traditional outfit. So, my jewelry is a little more modern.
