You wake up in the morning and realize you overslept. You only have a few minutes to get ready and do your makeup. What do you do? Depending on how much time you have, there are a number of things that can be done to ensure you go to school looking at least halfway decent. If you are extremely unlucky and only have about five minutes to get ready, here are a few things you can do to save your look.
No matter how much time you have to get ready, there is always time to prime your face. Primer is a key component to any look, and skipping this step could have detrimental consequences. If you do not use primer, there is a chance of your foundation cracking or creasing, and that is something you definitely do not want to happen. Priming only takes about 10 seconds, so there really is no need to skip it considering the possible aftermath.
The next step to your look would be to use a foundation and/or concealer to cover up any imperfections or discolorations of the skin. This step is very important to the overall look. Foundation works as the base for any other makeup desired for the look. This step will only take about a minute or two, but will still make a big difference in the presentation of your skin. For lighter coverage and faster application, a BB or CC cream is advised.
At this point you should still have around two minutes to continue with the look. This time can be used to apply mascara, and if you are looking to increase the look of your lashes, it can be used to apply an eyelash primer or lash grower as well. I would not suggest trying to do anything else other then apply a chapstick or something simple to your lips with the remaining minute, as you will be rushing out the door shortly.
If you have around 10 minutes to get ready, there are a few more things you can do, one of which would be applying your makeup slightly slower.
Primer, foundation, concealer, and mascara should be applied just as before, and after this, you could add a lipstick or other lip product, depending on what a person would be more comfortable with. Remaining time can be used for blush and/or bronzer.
Some Other Quick Tips For Makeup:
- If you want some color on your eyelids, just apply a little bronzer, it creates the illusion that you are wearing eyeshadow.
- Using a tinted lip balm is more time-friendly than lipstick.
- Do the important parts of the makeup routine at home and bring in whatever you could not do at home so you can finish before class.
- Keep your makeup organized so you do not waste time looking for products.
While all of these tips are very helpful during a rush, we still recommend a good amount of sleep and an alarm as the best weapons against waking up late.
