Week of 10/26:
Varsity Cheerleading:
The Vikings finished first in Counties on Wednesday at Atholton. Varsity Cheerleading finished with the highest score Mt. Hebron has ever earned and will compete in Regionals on November 7.
Boys’ Cross Country:
On Thursday, Boys’ Cross Country competed in County Championships at Centennial after the meet, which was originally scheduled on Wednesday, was rained out. The Vikings finished third and will run in Regionals on November 5.
Girls’ Cross Country:
Girls’ Cross Country finished first in County Championships on Thursday at Centennial, behind River Hill, Centennial and Howard. The Girls’ team will compete in Regionals on November 5.
Field Hockey (10-2, 12-3):
On Thursday, Field Hockey won their first playoff game against Reservoir 1-0. The Vikings will play Atholton on November 2.
Football (1-8):
On Friday, the Vikings lost to Marriotts Ridge 42-0.
Golf:
The Golf State Tournament, held at University Maryland College Park, was held on Monday and Tuesday. The final day of the tournament will take place on November 2 because it was canceled on Wednesday due to heavy rain.
Boys’ Soccer (10-1, 12-2):
Boys’ Soccer earned a bye-week this week after finishing first in the County. The Vikings will play their first playoff game against Long Reach on November 3.
Girls’ Soccer (4-1-8, 4-1-10):
Girls’ Soccer lost their first playoff game to Long Reach on Thursday. After overtime, the Lightning and the Vikings remained scoreless, resulting in penalty kicks. Long Reach scored three of their penalty kicks, while Mt. Hebron only scored one, resulting in a Long Reach win.
Volleyball (7-4, 7-5):
On Tuesday against Reservoir, Volleyball won in four sets. The game was a “pink-out” in memory of English teacher Ms. Cyndie Fagan, who lost her battle to cancer one year ago on Tuesday.
During Volleyball’s senior night on Thursday, the Vikings loss in four sets to River Hill.
