Week of 10/19:
Varsity Cheerleading:
At the Autumn Invite at Atholton, Varsity Cheerleading finished third overall and first in the county. On Wednesday, the Vikings will compete in Counties, where only the first place team has a guaranteed spot in Regionals.
Boys’ Cross Country:
The Boys’ Cross Country team finished first in their trimeet on Wednesday against Wilde Lake and Reservoir.
Girls’ Cross Country:
At Reservoir’s trimeet, Girl’s Cross Country finished first on Wednesday against Reservoir and Wilde Lake.
Field Hockey (9-2, 11-3):
During their Senior Game on Monday, Field Hockey won 3-2 against Fallston in their fourth overtime game of the season. Senior Katie Anderson scored all three goals, including the game-winner, which is her second of the season.
On Tuesday, Field Hockey won their last regular season game 8-0 against Wilde Lake. The Vikings finished the season tied for second in the county with Atholton.
Football (1-7):
On Saturday, Football lost to Wilde Lake 35-0.
Golf:
Golf has no matches this week in preparation for the State Tournament on October 26-28. The Vikings’ Golf Team is the first team, since golf became an official varsity sport in 2005, to qualify for the State Tournament. Golf is led by seniors Josephine Jung and Jack Montgomery, junior Liam Hall and freshman Lake Llyod.
Boys’ Soccer (10-1, 12-2):
Against Wilde Lake on Tuesday, Boys’ Soccer won 2-0, with goals scored by junior Johnny Linsenmeyer and senior Atticus Cooke.
On Thursday, Boys’ Soccer won against Long Reach, 3-0, with 2 goals scored by Linsenmeyer and one by sophomore Dino Broccolino.
Mt. Hebron Boys’ Soccer finished first in Howard County, winning their first county title since 2006. The team finished the season with nine straight wins.
Girls’ Soccer (4-1-7, 4-1-9):
The Vikings lost to Wilde Lake on Tuesday 1-0.
On Thursday, Girls’ Soccer defeated Long Reach 2-0 during their last home game. Sophomore Mackenzie Folch scored both goals.
Volleyball (7-4, 7-5):
Volleyball won against Wilde Lake in four sets on Tuesday.
On Thursday, Volleyball won against Long Reach in three sets.
