Week of 10/12 Mt. Hebron Varsity Sports Recap
Allied Soccer:
On Monday, Allied Soccer played well during their last regular game of the season against Long Reach.
On Wednesday, Allied Soccer remained undefeated in the Pumpkin Bowl at Howard High School. Mt. Hebron and Oakland Mills both won the HCPSS Allied Spirit Sportsmanship Award.
Varsity Cheerleading:
On Wednesday, Varsity Cheerleading hosted Viking Invitational at Mt. Hebron. The Vikings finished 3rd overall and 1st in the county.
Boys’ Cross Country:
Boys’ Cross Country had no meets this week.
Girls’ Cross Country:
Girls’ Cross Country had no meets this week.
Field Hockey (8-2, 9-3):
Against Glenelg on Tuesday, Field Hockey lost 4-0. Goalies Rachel Bowman, senior, and Julia Cargiulo, sophomore, combined for 15 saves.
On Thursday, Field Hockey won against Hammond 14-0. The Vikings are currently tied with Atholton for second in the county.
Football (1-6):
During the Homecoming game on Saturday, Football lost to Reservoir 47-7.
Boys’ Golf (8-3):
On Monday, Boys’ Golf finished 2nd in the District V Championship, with 319 points. Senior Jack Montgomery finished 5th with 76 points.
Girls’ Golf (6-4):
On Monday, senior Josephine Jung won the District V Championship, with a total of 71 points, for the second year in a row. Mt Hebron Golf finished 2nd to Marriotts Ridge.
Boys’ Soccer (8-1, 10-2):
On Tuesday, the Vikings defeated Glenelg 1-0. Mt. Hebron Boys’ Soccer is tied for 1st in the county and 4th in the All-Met Rankings.
Girls’ Soccer (2-1-9):
On Tuesday, the Vikings defeated Glenelg 2-0. Sophomores Mackenzie Folch and Julia Lamparella each scored one goal.
At Hammond on Friday, Girls’ Soccer lost 1-0.
Volleyball (5-4, 6-4):
Volleyball lost to Glenelg on Tuesday in three sets, 26-29, 28-26, 25-17.
On Thursday, Mt. Hebron defeated Hammond in three sets.
