Week of 9/28 Mt. Hebron Varsity Sports Recap

Allied Soccer:

On Monday at River Hill, the Allied Soccer team improved a lot and showed that their practice has paid off.

During their home game on Wednesday, the Vikings played very well against Reservoir.

Boys’ Cross Country:

On Wednesday, Boys’ Cross Country finished first at Oakland Mill’s tri-meet against Oakland Mills and Glenelg.

The Boys’ Cross Country team finished 2nd out of 16 teams on Saturday at Urbana Invitational.

Girls’ Cross Country:

Girls Cross Country finished first against Oakland Mills and Glenelg at Oakland Mill’s tri-meet on Wednesday.

On Saturday at Urbana Invitational, the Vikings finished 7th out of 16 teams.

Field Hockey (5-0):

At Long Reach on Monday, Field Hockey won 7-0.

On Tuesday, Field Hockey dominated Oakland Mills, winning 12-0.

The Vikings’ Thursday home game against Atholton was canceled due to inclement weather. The game is rescheduled for October 5.

Football (1-4):

At a rainy home game against Glenelg, the Vikings loss 37-7.

Boys’ Golf (8-1):

At Counties on Tuesday, freshman Ryan Jung tied for eighth with 22 points, and senior Jack Montgomery and freshman Lake Lloyd tied for 16th with 19 points.

Girls’ Golf (6-3):

On Tuesday, senior Josephine Jung won her second straight County Championship, beating Howard golfer Jacqueline Cherry by one point (24-23).

Boys’ Soccer (7-2):

On Tuesday, Boys’ Soccer beat Oakland Mills 4-0 during their away game.

Boys’ Soccer then defeated Atholton 3-0 on Thursday, with 2 goals by senior Pat Palin and 1 goal from sophomore Dino Broccolino.

Girls’ Soccer (1-1-6):

At their first home game on Monday, Girls’ Soccer loss to Howard 4-0.

On Tuesday at home, Mt. Hebron beat Oakland Mills 6-0, with sophomore Allison Ritter leading the Vikings with 3 goals.

At Atholton on Thursday, the Vikings loss 1-0. Senior goalie Lindsey McLamb had 10 stops.

Volleyball (3-3):

On Monday, Volleyball loss to 4A State Champions Dulaney in three sets.

At a home game on Tuesday, Mt. Hebron beat Oakland Mills in three straight sets.

The Vikings lost on Thursday to Atholton in three sets but were also missing many key players due to an art field trip.
