Week of 9/21 Mt. Hebron Varsity Sports Recap
Allied Soccer:
Allied Soccer had a bye-week in order to prepare for next week’s game against River Hill.
Boys’ Cross Country:
At Hereford High School, the Boys’ Cross Country team placed 12th out of 16 teams in the elite varsity boys race on Saturday.
Girls’ Cross Country:
On Saturday, Girls’ Cross Country ran in the Bull Run Invitational at Hereford High School and placed 6th out of 22 teams in the varsity race.
Field Hockey (3-0):
The Field Hockey team beat Howard 4-0 on Thursday. Senior Katie Anderson scored 2 goals, and sophomores Jaden Ross and Erin Demek each had one.
Football (1-3):
During a white-out at Howard on Friday, Football loss 35-0.
Boys’ Golf (8-1):
On Tuesday, Boys’ Golf beat Howard and Oakland Mills 69 to 58 and 42, respectively.
Boys’ Golf defeated Centennial 70-60 on Thursday, led by 20 points from junior Liam Hall and 19 points from both sophomore Lake Llyod and senior Jack Montgomery.
Girls’ Golf (6-3):
In a tri-match against Howard and Oakland Mills, Mt. Hebron loss to Howard 62-53, but beat Oakland Mills, who had 0 points.
On Thursday, Girls’ Golf beat Centennial, 67-64, which was a season high score. Senior Josephine Jung and freshman Isabelle Rathburn led the Vikings with 24 and 23 points, respectively. One more tri-match remains on Golf’s regular season schedule.
Boys’ Soccer (4-2):
On Monday, Boys’ Soccer won their home game, 5-0, against Hammond. The total goals were scored by senior Atticus Cooke, who had 3 goals, and junior Johnny Linsenmeyer, who had 2 goals.
On Thursday, Boys’ Soccer won 6-0 against Howard with 11 combined saves from their goalies, junior Torrey Jones and senior Shahin Manasterli.
Girls’ Soccer (0-1-4):
Girls’ Soccer had a bye-week and are preparing for next week’s games against Howard and Oakland Mills.
Volleyball (2-1):
Varsity Volleyball defeated Howard in five sets on Thursday to improve their season record to 2-1. Next week, Volleyball has a full schedule with games against Dulaney, Oakland Mills and Atholton.
